My Most Precious (and Painful) Revelation

Several years ago I was pondering my relationships with my children.  As I did so I was praying, "Father, our children are good kids.  They are funny and kind and good athletes and good students.  People tell me that they are well liked.  But they never want to spend any time with me.  I must be doing something wrong.  They want me to watch their athletic events, but mostly they just want me to leave them alone and pay the bills.  So, what am I doing wrong?"

The answer I received shocked me!  Quietly and somberly God spoke to my heart and said, "Now you know how I feel."

From that day I have had a much more intimate relationship with our heavenly Father, and invite you to also spend time with Him and get to know Him.  He longs to fellowship with us and to know us and to pour out His love on us!

In fact, eternal life is based on our relationship to God.  Jesus, while praying to His Heavenly Father, made this statement:

John 17:3  And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

We can actually rest in His love!  That is what the Toronto Revival is all about - The Father's Blessing - although most of the body of Christ has not even heard of it or about it due to the disdain shown toward it by church leaders.  I have sadly witnessed large meetings of Christians where people were simply getting melted down and healed by God's love while church leaders sat with their arms crossed, judging the event as nothing they were interested in!

By spending time with God after this revelation I have learned to rejoice with God when He rejoices, and to grieve with Him when He grieves:

Luke 10:17-21  And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your Name. And He said to them, I saw Satan falling out of Heaven as lightning! Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and on all the power of the hostile one, and nothing shall hurt you, no, never! But stop rejoicing in this, that the evil spirits submit to you. But rather rejoice that your names are written in Heaven. In the same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit, and said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, that You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes; yes, Father, because so it was pleasing before You.

Mat 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
Mat 23:38  Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
Mat 23:39  For I say to you, You shall not see Me from now on until you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."
